Success in Times of Trouble

In attempt to keep up with the Social Media Age, I am finally putting myself out there in the "blogosphere". I must say it is a little daunting.  However, if you want to change what you're getting, you must change what you're doing, right?  My wife, Melle, and I have recently made big changes in our thinking as well as our lives.  We have decided to dive head-first in to our home-based business.  We have seen numerous people, friends included, discover prosperity in the company we have partnered with.  In efforts to follow in their footsteps we decided it was time to, as they say, "turn it up a notch".  We have discovered new enthusiasm in seeing this company and all those involved with it find success...even in this economy.
Success. Can you even use that word in today's economy?  Yes you can.  The other day, after eating an awesome breakfast at IHOP, I was walking out and saw a Las Vegas Employment Guide.  Curious, I grabbed one to see what the job situation is looking like.  Astonished, I did not see one Help Wanted ad! In a town of 1,964,673 there was not one place hiring.  I couldn't believe it. The whole "employment guide" was 7 pages long.  However, there were plenty of "Business Opportunities".  A business opportunity is  a packaged business investment that allows the buyer to begin a business.  There are numerous business opportunities which have made people fortunes.  This is not to say that there are plenty out there which are, excuse the expression, crap.  But one sure thing can be said about most of them though. There are successful people in every one.
Although success is elusive to most, with the right mindset you can make it happen for you.
First thing you have to do is stop listening to all the "gloom and doom".  There is plenty of opportunity out there. I know, I know, the job market is looking pretty scant right now.  This just means you have to look for alternative career paths, which there are many.  You just have to figure our which ones are legitimate and which ones are not.  Next, you have to pick one.  My wife and I found a company which we fell in love with. It is a network marketing company that was founded on great principles and values. You may be asking yourselves, "Network Marketing?!".  Yes, network marketing.  It is a great way to become business-owners with very little investment, while at the same time having a multi-million or billion dollar company backing you up with the provisions of state of the art training, marketing, and sales tools.  There is also no need to hire employees, rent or buy a building, or even keep inventory.  I know many people who make six figures a year working from home in a network marketing business of there own.  I could spend hours explaining the good points of network marketing, but that is another blog altogether (tune in).
Once you've picked out what company you want to partner with, it is necessary that you prepare yourself for the negativity you may be faced with by your peers and family.  It is important that you don't become discouraged because of their naivety.  Most people that discourage or down alternative career paths do so because of their failure to succeed in there own attempts at alternative career paths.  I call them "nay-sayers".  Don't listen to them.  Never take the advice of people who have been unsuccessful on the topic to which they are "nay-saying".  If someone tells you that something is "impossible" or something "can't be done" run away.  These people are negative people who will only stand in your way of greatness.  Believe me, nay-sayers are everywhere!  Look at the world we are living in.  There are so many amazing things that we have today that wouldn't be here if the inventors of these things would have listened to nay-sayers.
There are just a couple more things I want to mention.  These being education and motivation.  I must say, I believe these two things go hand in hand.  Time must be set aside every day for education and motivation in the area of interest you will be pursuing.  Remember, you are the boss now.  The success you experience will be directly reflected by the amount of education and motivation you personally invest in.  I can't place enough value on this subject.  It is very easy to lose momentum and get discouraged during the first few months of any business endeavor.  You must constantly feed yourself positive and motivational tools, whether they be audio or visual.
Success in these times is very possible.  You just have to open your mind to a non-traditional way of doing things.  You see, all our lives we were brought up taught the "45 year plan".  This is, work real hard for someone else, save as much as you can, and retire when your 65.  This no longer exists.  Have you seen any young "Walmart Greeters"?  By the way, how are you doing with the whole "saving thing"?  Where else can you work a month or two and earn the equivalent of having a few hundred thousand dollars in the bank?  What I mean by that is this:  in network marketing you can earn a residual income, which just means getting paid continually on something you only had to do once.  If you consider the current annual interest rates in the highest-yielding bank account, you would have to have over $400,000 in the bank to draw only a few hundred dollars each month to live off the interest.  How long will it take you to save $400,000?  You can accomplish earning a few hundred dollars residual income in only a few short weeks in a network marketing company.  But you get out of it what you put into it.
I'm going to end on this note.  Success is not unachievable.  You are going to be successful at something everyday.  It's up to you decide what type of success you want.  Thanks for reading.
